Hard | Expedition Trek | Paro → Laya → Gasa → Thimphu

Overview
The Laya Gasa Trek is Bhutan’s most complete and immersive high-altitude expedition, designed for experienced trekkers seeking both dramatic Himalayan landscapes and deep cultural encounters. Beginning in Paro, the journey follows the classic Jomolhari trail before venturing into remote northern valleys, crossing multiple high mountain passes, and reaching the isolated highland community of Laya.
This is more than a trek—it is an exploration of Bhutan’s highland life. Along the way, you encounter glaciers, alpine basins, and semi-nomadic communities shaped by geography and tradition. The journey concludes with a rewarding descent to Gasa, where natural hot springs offer rest and recovery after days of demanding trekking.
